Club Story

Coomera Waters Fishing Club is a family orientated fishing club founded on July 1st, 2018 by Brett and Robyn Hoyle for the benefit of residents of Coomera Waters and surrounding district. CWFC is aimed at giving the residents of Coomera, Oxenford, Pimpama and Ormeau district, (a new growth area) their families and friends from near and far, a way of introduction. Coomera Waters Fishing Club is a community for like-minded people to meet and enjoy one of Australia’s favourite recreational activities.

CWFC is a registered “Not for Profit” Incorporated organization, therefore all the money raised from the membership fees, fund raising, and sponsors go back into the club and out to the members through prizes and events.

CWFC is growing and expanding club with new members registering most months of the year. Our membership comprises of approximately:

  • 40% Men
  • 25% Women
  • 35% Juniors

The initial funding for the club was paid for by the committee members elected at the first expression of interest meeting in January 2018. The committee members have been the backbone behind the club’s growth while most other fishing clubs in Australia are in decline.

Being a member of CWFC brings communities and people together from all walks of life to enjoy our great location in one of Australia’s greatest playgrounds; The Gold Coast is home to a vast waterway, interwoven around mangrove islands which are fed by nutrient fuelled rivers that are open to the sea via the Seaway and Jumping Pin. Coomera Waters Fishing Club’s location allows the club to enjoy our neighbouring waterways from Northern NSW to the Wide Bay region.

Coomera Waters offers a relaxing location to live or visit. Coomera Waters Fishing Club meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 6.30 pm at the Harbour Vue Tavern which is located on the waterfront overlooking our beautiful canals and marina.

Enjoy a lovely meal that is available 7 days per week while you enjoy the club meeting, or sip away at the wide range of wine, beer and soft drinks available from the bar.

Every meeting, there is a winner, with lucky door, trivia or raffle prizes up for grabs.

Coomera Waters Fishing Club have at least 12 monthly fishing competitions every year for points to win the yearly trophy in three divisions, school holiday comps for the juniors and trip comps for the families, up for grabs is fishing gear, vouchers and many other items as prizes throughout the year. The club has many family trips planned for each year from Yamba in the south to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island in the north.

It is a great way to enjoy socialising with trips to other locations.

Being a club member is not about winning, it is about the interaction with other families and the friendship that is built while enjoying your time sitting on the river’s edge, out in the boat or standing knee deep at the surf with your family and friends. You also have the opportunity to meet great fisho’s from other areas to share in their and your knowledge.

CWFC is continually seeking businesses and groups to present at our club meetings and social gatherings, informing members of how they can utilise your products or services is an important part of community liaison, advertising, business promotion and participation.

If your business is keen to associate with such a great club and benefit from the advertising and social media opportunities, please contact us.

If this is the lifestyle you would enjoy or you could see yourself making new friends doing what you enjoy, then come and be a part of Coomera Waters Fishing club today!
